2nd Struggle [Video] -- Cherrydumb City

[Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo he made it (somehow) to Cherrygrove City! About a week ago!! But that doesn't seem to matter now, right? Rin's feeling good - real good. His arm doesn't even hurt, even though it had been wrapped in those towels 'mom' gave him. Since his early morning arrival a little more than seven days ago, he's seen a Nurse Joy about his arm and gotten himself patched up real good. Now, as of this lovely afternoon's broadcast, he's just taking a walk by the city's sea coast.

And what a lovely view of the sea it is! The pokémon aren't singing anymore and Rin's been itching to get this gym challenge completely underway.

But why is he still in Cherrydumb? And why the seaside? Well...]

No one said this place had dinosaurs. [He should have guessed it would have, since it was based on a video game and all. Rin turns the camera just a smidgen - and there he was, in all of her glory... a large, blue, swimming dinosaur.] The Nurse said it was mine after I threw that pokeball at it. I did the same thing to a bird not too long ago - it was trying to eat Poochy's food.

[Poor Pidgey was still a little mad about being attacked by a pokeball, but it was getting over it! Just, you know, inside of its new pokeball. But that was another story. Rin seems a little unsure as he he poses his next question:]

The dinosaur - Blue - looks healthy and happy but it needs water. And I can't [physically] carry a pool with me [anymore]. ... How can I keep it hydrated while we're going to Violet?

[he was going to suggest something practical (like keeping the pokemon in its ball while traveling, yeah?) but there are just some things that derail your thoughts.]

Carry... a pool...?

Yeah. Carry a pool. Maybe about this big? [And he tries to measure how large a pool should be with his arms. It's pretty damn big (maybe). Herp derp. Haven't you seen a guy carry a pool before?]

You seriously, seriously carried a pool before?! [shock and disbelief! because only manga characters can carry a pool :|]

A-Ah, you know! An inflatable pool! Like a toy!! [He sees that shock! And that was Rin's attempt at a quick save! Bunta's the manga character, not him :|]

Oh. Well, that makes sense... [cheekscratch. wow, no way, that's just silly!] Haha, I thought you meant olympic sized ones!

But, um! You could keep the Lapras in its Pokeball while you're traveling, you know.

Buy lots of water bottles and only keep it out for battles, unless there's water nearby. [It's you again, needing advice again.]

I can only carry so many. [It's you again, offering advice again. Why does it still sound sensible?]

Catch a bigger Pokemon and load it with bags. [Because it's quite sensible now do ittttt]

What can be bigger than a dinosaur? ...Are there any hill-sized pokemon around here? [S-So convincing!!!]

Dragons. Rock snakes. Dragons would be more useful, but I don't think you'll be able to raise one quickly enough to carry the bags.

For the swimming dinosaur. [Lapras comes over to stare back at the dude.] It needs to swim, right?

Oh, a Lapras! Yeah, it needs to swim if it's outside of its Pokeball. But you can keep it inside the Pokeball while travelling.

[Well, he knows that's a practical method and all but...] It won't like being in there.

Oh, then...you might need a big Pokemon to carry a pool for you?

You keep it in the pokeball, until you get to some water. [Flat responses are best to convene how idiotic he thinks you are being. ]

It's a dinosaur that swims. Why keep it locked up in a cage the whole time? Who knows how long that'll take?!

...[sigh]That's you're problem. I should have explain this too you before since you're sensitive about it.

Rin, you can only carry have six pokémon with you on any given time. Most people have more that six can you guess what happens to them?

Plus do you know what it's like inside a pokéball, technical that dinosaur is getting a better deal then you.[He does understand Rin point of view on this but self-righteous sort of ticks him off]

Keep it in its ball. There isn't any water on Route 30 for it to swim in during the trip.

[As someone who's made that trip twice, he should know. At least, he kind of hopes he does.]

A pause while Rin tries to convince Blue, then he shrugs faintly.]

It's better than dying of dehydration. Convincing it of that may make things easier on you both.

[Sorry dino, looks like you'll have no water...

Rin continues his conversation with Blue. It seems that they reached an agreement: Blue stays in the ball and Rin gets to the next city as fast as he can. Once Blue is in the pokeball...]

Are they all like that? Poochy doesn't mind being in or out of the ball. [And that reminds him of something!] Hey, Hitsugaya, did you get an egg?

Their behavior differs from one to the other. Some don't mind, but others hate being in their balls so much they'll break loose no matter that you do.

[Speaking from experience? Perhaps. As for the egg question, that's a nod.]

Everyone did, as far as I'm aware. It's not the first time it's happened.
