8th Struggle | [Action/Video] | Revenge of the Blue-Eyed Devil Boy
[Violet City, a place that smelled of new opportunities, shiny badges, birds, grapes, and revenge. Revenge just happened to take on the visage of a tough-looking kid with sweet intentions.]
What's up?
[Well howdy-do Johto! This bright ball of teenage sunshine is more than happy to greet the masses. It has been such a long time since he has last seen everyone, right? It - It honestly didn't feel like such a long time, but judging by how Poochy nearly mauled him upon return, he figured it had to have been at least six months.
Oh well! He was here now!
Despite how early in the evening it was, there was nothing that could dampen the force of that smile. Yes, he did look a little drained, and yes that was a mini collection of dedenne perched his head and shoulders. His smile clearly said that this particular trainer was ready to take on the world by storm - a vengeance storm. He points the camera towards the Violet City Gym. Glorious, isn't it? The video's image stays right on the gym as Rin continues to speak.]
It's not everyday that a guy gets a chance to kick some Bird Man's ass. We've challenged this guy before and he kicked my ass three times before I could get a badge. I couldn't have done it without the old team. But Poochy and I are gonna make sure that this is gonna be the fourth and final time, right girl? [ARF ARF!!
Wow, it had been a while... Right. Now or never. Rin takes a deep breath and shouts out:]
This is for Blue and Birdie!! This is for Soba and Saki and Sei!! THIS IS FOR ACORN AND THE BABY ZORUA TOO AND T-BONE AND BROWNIE!!
Poochy, we're going to get the badge back for them!! So Bird Man, you better watch your feathered ass 'cause Rin Okumura and Poochy are comin' in to kick it into last year!!!
[Now, Poochy didn't really like battling. It just wasn't her thing. But there was no way she would back down after that sort of pep talk! She remembered those guys well and she missed the missing ones. And if it meant that they were still remembered by getting that one badge, then she could do it! She would definitely do it!!
The camera swings back to Rin's face. He looks ready for anything.]
We're gonna take on that guy ...tomorrow morning!! After a good night's sleep!! [If his grin was huge before, then it's just brimming over with unbridled excitement now.]
So keep your eyes peel -- uuuuhh open!! Keep 'em open! Wiiiiide open!! For the biggest battle ever! [Oh yeah it was gonna rock!!
But there was one more thing he had to say while he was still out of Yukio's immediate viewpoint. His voice lowers just a bit. He almost covers the video's screen, as if that could really shield the information from leaking out.]
Hey... so, whoever looked after my brother while I was gone? Thanks.

...With that kind of enthusiasm, I'd not be surprised if you somehow summoned them all back at your side, if only so they can watch your impressive victory.
[Enthusiasm, volume, they're the same thing, right?]
Welcome back, Rin. It's been some time.
Cecil!! Has it really? It feels like only a day passed to me. [Poochy barked at that. It was definitely a "IT DIDN'T FEEL LIKE A DAY TO ME, YOU IDIOT!" sort of sound.]
Dude, that would be totally awesome if they all came back! D'ya think they could?
[The same old Pokémon World routine, in other words.]
If it's even slightly possible, they surely will. That sort of determination can be felt from quite far.
[But you know what? As weird as that sounds, it doesn't dampen his mood. See that smile, Cecil? Those words had the power to make Rin feel like a million dollars.]
[Because that bears repeating.]
And you'd think that would have convinced most trainers to never approach a Sharpedo again, but from what I understand quite a few were caught that day. You missed the chance to stare in horror at very foolhardy people, or to show great foolhardiness yourself.
[That comes out much more fondly than it should.]
Awwwww, Cecil, you enjoy his boyish antics!]
I know what I'd do if I saw a shark hurricane in person! What did you do?
[Because there was no way he was going out when there were sharks flying about.]
D'ya think the sharks can still fly even though they're not in the hurricane anymore? [These are the real questions.]
[But for a few moments, he seriously pondered the question.]
He takes a look at her, trying to imagine a tornado of Poochy. Nope. Impossible.]
...What makes a dark type pokemon, "dark"?
[None of his Dark-types look particularly drained, thankfully.]
[There's a clear frown of displeasure at those words, but it certainly wasn't aimed at Pooch or Cecil. Pushing it away for now, yup.]
What do you mean the "drain on their life and soul"?
[Let's just say he's very glad to be a paladin now.]
Thankfully, that's obviously not the case here.
[Sheesh, talk about some crazy manga-plot twist type of attack!]
You got that right... [...he's known Cecil long enough, it wouldn't hurt to share a little.] ...that's a lot like what a Tamer in my world does. They gotta use up blood to summon demons. The more blood, the more powerful the demon. Or something like that.
[Why yes, that is experience speaking.]
...That sounds impractical in battle, unless they can acquire and store the blood in advance. Of course, once they've been sufficiently injured that stops being an issue, but I doubt many demons can stop someone from bleesing out.
Kinda, but I knew a teacher who cut himself open to summon. ...But that depends on the demon. Some might want their Tamer to bleed out. ...But my friend doesn't give blood. She sorta does what you were talking about - the part about life energy and stuff.
[Twas pretty high on the list of "Things We Would Rather Not Remember"]
But if she did have another bad one, she could just tear up the magic circle and she'd be safe. Her summons now is a green man and it doesn't sap her like a leech. And it's pretty simple-minded. Like a baby.
[Even though she didn't have to get stronger, she did. And she was cool in a very pretty petite girly way.]
[see how important friends are? you get to brag about them to others!]
...What's your world like?
[He says that with a slight touch of fondness in his voice.]
Then, then, what were you? What was your magic and weapon?
