[Well howdy-do Johto! This bright ball of teenage sunshine is more than happy to greet the masses. It has been such a long time since he has last seen everyone, right? It - It honestly didn't feel like such a long time, but judging by how Poochy nearly mauled him upon return, he figured it had to have been at least six months.

Yes, he did look a little drained, and yes that was a mini collection of dedenne perched his head and shoulders. His smile clearly said that this particular trainer was ready to take on the world by storm - a vengeance storm. He points the camera towards the Violet City Gym. Glorious, isn't it? It's not everyday that a guy gets a chance to kick some Bird Man's ass. We've challenged this guy before and he kicked my ass three times before I could get a badge. [Now, Poochy didn't really like battling. It just wasn't her thing. But there was no way she would back down after that sort of pep talk! She remembered those guys well and she missed the missing ones. And if it meant that they were still remembered by getting that one badge, then she could do it! She would definitely do it!!

That's the sort of question that can have a thousand answers, is it not? ...But it's the sort of world where most of us would be expected to battle monsters with our own magic and weapons, not with the help of Pokémon and demons. Well, except for summoners, though even they have abilities of their own.

Then, then, what were you? What was your magic and weapon?

Both as a Dark Knight and as a Paladin, I favor swords. But I can also wield axes, knives, staves and bows, and if necessary I can cure minor wounds. Every single one of these came in handy at least once, believe me.

A Paladin? And you could do all that on your own?

It's not that much, truly. My son can use nearly all the same weapons and has stronger magic, while many mages can master dozens of spells to face any possible opponent. And my best ability is not particularly flashy or impressive.

Perhaps, or perhaps not. I did become a paladin at a relatively young age, after all. Not too long before I had Ceodore, in fact.

Of course; defending the people is one of my main duties. The people of Baron, mostly, but also everyone else in the world should it become necessary.

Of course! For about two decades I've had a group of old friends that has been willing to fight by my side, against any threat that might reveal itself. And now, even the younger generations are joining in.

Two decades? [Cecil's old age was showing...] What did you call yourselves? Were they all paladins like you or like tamers?

We've no group name, truly. But we have mages, monks, ninjas, a bard, a dragoon, engineers... Even dolls and a secretary, these days, thouse I've not had much chance to appreciate their presence.
