5th Struggle [Video/Action] Celadon City/Route 7

[Poochy's in charge of the Gear today, and with good reason. She's has decided to take it upon herself to call for help because her pig-headed companion was too much of a pig-head to do so himself. Poochy nudges the camera in one direction, and it slowly focuses on a Charmander and Quilava, both who have huddled closer to the crouching figure of their trainer. Said trainer had a indigo hue rather than its normal bluish one. His ears were only slightly pointed, but it was hard to tell with all of his hair in the way.]

I don't care what those two simpletons say: humans who suddenly start using fire moves or some of that other stuff I've been seeing aren't normal. Don't tell me all of you other pokemon think the same as those two!!

[She makes sure to keep out of view as she inches just a little closer to the group. Quilava has taken residence on his lap, curling its body around him. It seemed content compared to Charmander. The fire lizard kept trying to crawl onto Rin as well, going so far as to nip his arm a few times.]

Cut it out! [Something seemed to flash in Rin's eyes, but it was gone in a second. Charmander whined but hadn't stopped trying to get closer to Rin.] Since when did you become so clingy? [He petted Charmander as gently as he could, despite himself. He spoke quietly and as gently as he could.]

I'm fine. I only over-reacted earlier. ...Sorry. But you see that I'm okay now, right?

[He smiled widely, showing of row after row of sharp teeth. There's a haunted look in his eyes, one he's trying hard to cover up.]

Besides, these aren't mine... [The teeth? The fangs? The ears? The hair? He's not clarifying and Poochy doesn't particularly care. She only wants to get his attention (or better yet, those two fire-types). It's not until Poochy barks that he realizes the audience he might have had. In a moment of sheer panic, a few will-o-wisp emerge, heading right for Poochy.] Shit, no!!

[Rin runs right towards her, and the gear, determined to shield her from the burn-inflicting move but he trips over it, landing face first on the other unseen side. Unseen, Poochy takes this moment to make her move and run as far away from Rin as she possibly can.

But instead of running after her, Rin squats and slowly stands up. He's picked up the camera along the way and glances at it for only a moment before stuffing it into his pocket. That haunted look has returned and doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Rin takes off after her, leaving his Quilava and Charmander to try and follow after him.]

[It's only after he's stopped running to catch his breath (and to have a brief coughing fit) that he hears Flora's voice. He turns around, thinking for a moment that she was in the area -- but no, she's sick in Goldenrod, not here.

He tries to compose himself before answering.]

Hey Flora! [See? He dropped that stuffy sounding "Ms. Reinhold" business! ...He is totally doing a good job at not looking worried. Totally.]

[Oh haha mysterious voice from the pokegear, you won't scare surprise him this time. He has the gear in hand, saving him the embarrassment of thinking Gotholita was also in the area.]

You too? [Well, obviously. He doesn't remember her having an Emolga, however.] ...Where's spheal? [ . . . Did spheal run away too. . . ?]

[Beneath the chattering teeth is a sympathetic tone. He misses being near his dragons. =c]

[There's a small part of him that wants to lash out at Hiccup but another part is grateful for the sympathy. He runs a hand through his hair, feeling completely at a lose for what to do.]

It shouldn't be possible! [Poochy wasn't in this small patch of grass so he keeps on walking. He's frustrated and confused and so very distraught...] Have your pokemon gotten scared too?

[No, no... he needed a subject change...] ...Heh, you sound worse than I ever did. How are you holding up?

[Others, too, but it was the fact that Adder especially hadn't tolerated his icy-cold self that hit him the hardest. Yet again abandoned by his companion in flight.

He tries to muster up a bit of positivity, though.]

I'm b-better-r th-than I was yesterd-day. [If only by a little bit. Being level 5 is suffering.] I j-just w-wish I could keep th-th-the snowstorms under-r control.

[He wants to say "I know they'll come back!" but he can't very well mean those words right now when he was feeling the sting. Instead he tries a different tactic.]

If I can get Poochy to quit being a drama queen, you can get your dragons to do the same. [So help him, he will treat this behavior as if it were a temper tantrum. Hiccup manages to put a smile on Rin's face.]

You made a few snowstorms? [Despite everything, it was still very cool. But he can offer a little advice about control.] Have you tried focusing on making them smaller?

[Hiccup only gives a soft 'hmn' to that, not as optimistic. As long as he kept up on the blizzards, the majority of his pokemon were going to steer clear of him. Curse you, type advantages.]

M-more than a few. [If he wasn't sleeping or under large quantities of blankets, there were likely to be at least a few flakes in the air.] I'v-ve m-mostly just tried t-to think about other-r things, when it h-happens.

[Though that had little success, what with the whole being surrounded by snow whipping across the room everywhere.]

[Slight moment of "I NEVER TOLD HIM I COULD DO THAT WHEN DID HE FIND OUT" before he realizes the gear must have shown a lot more than what he initially thought. ...Not that he gave it much thought, what with his starter pokemon running away from him...]

Yeah, me too. [He's quiet for a moment before speaking up again.] Do you know anything about poochyena? You've been around this place longer than -- well maybe not as long as that guy, but you've been here. So you must have met a pokemon like her right?

[Rin's trying hard not to look as upset as he feels. Seeing Poochy run off like that was... difficult.]

[Ada's one of his mainstay in his team, since she's among his first six Pokemon.]

[Rin smiles softly and looks off screen for a moment. His smile fades as he meets Atsuro's eyes again. In such a far away place, if Kanto could count as a place even farther than Johto, Rin really felt out of his element. He really was lost out here, even more so without Poochy.]

It is. ...Mine ran away.

Hey, are you alright?! [That was a little worrying, if only cause it looks like he's accidentally hurting his Pokemon.] Is it alright?

[He stares at the person in the video, unsure of how to answer those questions without confronting the obvious himself. But he takes a moment to compose himself instead, taking care to hide the initial panic that took over him.]

I hope so... I didn't -- [composure where is it] -- She has to be okay. She's a tough pokemon, but...

[Frowning a bit, he nods in agreement quickly. The guy wasn't doing it on purpose, no, but the Pokemon.. didn't look that happy about something.] Maybe offering food will help you find her. Just, it's something to make her come running. Right?

Yeah. She's great at running but even better at hiding when she doesn't want to be found. Poochy's only done this in battle and sometimes to get away from helping me with the others.

[He smiles at the memory. Red-head had a good idea going there. He may not have all the ingredients for her favorite meal but that won't stop him.]

I don't have any ingredients on me, but I'll give it a shot.
