[Rin's laughing on his end. Yeah, reading that Ron tried and failed to kiss Yukio was surprising but no harm, no fowl. Unless Yukio was crying somewhere.]

But how 'bout Yukio? Was he okay with you comin' at him?

[ Oh come ON it's not like he was worried about you being mad at him or anything gosh. There's one 'ha!' though before he speaks. Not ballsy enough. Who are you talking to? ]

Can't say he didn't like it! I mean... s'not like I got decked across the gob or anything. He just sort of... hurried off in a fluster so I couldn't tell.

[Now Rin's laughing even harder. Please Ron, this is Rin's trust we're talking about. It doesn't exactly waver very much unless pushed off a cliff that ends in a boiling pot of oil. He likes Ron too much.]

[ Who knew he had a timid side to him. ]

[Yukio's timid side? Rin knew about that. Big brothers know these things. Ron's timid side? Unknown territory. Rin manages to listen without laughing. Once Ron is done, it's easy to picture the fond smile Rin is wearing. To think his brother would manage to get everyone's attention, not just girls! That was kinda cool.

Even though Yukio acts like a fifty year old man, it seems some things just don't change. Just listening to Ron's account reminds him of a tiny snot-nosed kid who was afraid to talk about being a doctor.]

Yeah, give him time. He's probably just scared of whatever he's feeling.

Blimey, he's worse of'n I thought... Looks like I've my work cut out for me if that was enough to spook him.

[ Really? He knew Yuki seemed to be the sort to hide his emotions but to be scared of them? You've only got one life to live, after all. But gdit if that doesn't strengthen his resolve to get Yuki to smile... and open up. Not necessarily in that order. ]

Has he always been that way?

All withdrawn like that? Kinda. He doesn't like to let people in.

[Well, when Ron puts it that way, Yukio really is a bad place emotionally. Maybe it was more than academic nerves and future aspirations that bothered his brother.]

He's always been competitive, though. You know, the type of guy who hates to lose and he has to be the best at everything no matter what.

Sounds like my kind of fellow.

[ ...Ron, you've already tried to kiss him. Saying Yuki's your type is a bit of a no-brainer at this point. ]
